Don’t Blame Your Genes!

After having exhausted quite a few topics, I have to procure ideas where I can, like other blogs and articles, specifically blogs and articles that don’t understand the nature of addiction. Just read some post about a doctor who essentially absconds the addict from any responsibility because “Nobody chooses their genes.” And then you have another guy convinced that no child wants to be a drug addict. Um, yeah they do. Wanting to use is what made us addicts. We love to use. In fact, that’s all we want to do.

But let’s focus on the doctor (one of many, I suspect) who asserts that the act of becoming a drug addict has NOTHING to do with bad choices or even so much as a crack in one’s moral compass. DNA can and is to be blamed for EVERYTHING an addict does, from the very first drink, all the way down to a lifetime of broken hearts, abuse, deception, manipulation, pathological selfishness and spiritual destitution.

Oh man, you poor parents. I can’t believe that your first line of defense is going to talk to a doctor or other academic about addiction. None of them can think outside of a text book, painting this picture of addiction as some complex disease, originating in a genetic anomaly. Then you’ll probably get a few nuggets about the neuroscience of addiction the intriguing notion of dual-diagnosis. The end result is you get dumbed down and infected with the clever idea that you need a myriad of treatment and pharmaceutical options from which to pawn through, trying each and every one until you’ve found something that will at least keep your addict zombified enough to mitigate the need to buy heroin on the street.

There is no evidence whatsoever that you are born an addict. Have you ever seen somebody just wake up and suddenly need crack? Sorry to be facetious, but you don’t just blink and suddenly you are a full-blown jam sandwich. You have to drink or use a bit before you actually break your body to that point. Yes, that is facetious, too, because you have to drink and use A TON before that happens. We put a lot of effort into becoming addicts, let me assure you.
So the hundreds and hundreds of times I drank and used drugs before actually stepping over that line and becoming a drug addict was my DNA? My DNA was responsible for all those times? Nothing at all to do with me? Nothing at all to do with the person I am, the person I created after being born? Nothing to do with the piss poor choices and the gaping hole in my moral compass? Sorry, but you gotta be kidding me.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that doctors pump this stuff given they are so beholden to the Establishment. Normally I would reserve this sort of logic to addicts themselves, but for an intellectual to obfuscate and sophisticate something as much as an addict does, well, that doesn’t bode well for you or your addict.

Your genes don’t make you an addict. Your genes don’t pick up the bottle, swallow the pill, sniff the coke or shoot the dope. Saying that your genes are responsible for your addiction is about as much of a disservice to addicts as saying that relapse is part of recovery. That’s great. Let’s give addicts the only excuse they will ever need to do anything they damn well please. This is exactly the kind of thinking that will get you killed.

Millions of people have at one time or another found themselves becoming dependent on a substance, and they, because they are not hyper-focused on self and obsessed with self-comfort, do the work that needs to be done to prevent themselves from becoming an absolute deadbeat. At some point, there is simply no excuse for an addict to continue being a addict, especially when there is a solution that can suck the mental obsession right out of you like a snake.
God, teach us to see things for what they really are…

The One Requirement to Recover

It’s really simple: You have to want God more than drugs.

Obviously it’s hard to want anything other than more dope when we roll into or out of detox, wallowing in depression and angst. That’s why there is only one option for the hopeless drunks and addicts out there, and that is to give every last ounce of spirit and courage we have within us to the Twelve Steps as they are laid out in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, thus inducing a psychic change that will shower us with immediate and profound relief.

When you feel this kind of relief and freedom within, then you will want God more than drugs. And so long as that is the case, you will remain recovered and free from any desire to drink or use. Thoughts to drink or use will have no power over you. Thoughts to self-destruct and to sabotage everything will have no power over you. You will be able to sit down with no distractions whatsoever and feel completely okay. Your mind no longer races. You are not ridden by guilt and shame. You are no longer a tortured soul. Trust me, it’s awesome.

And yes, this is all true and it happens.

I lay down to sleep at night and fall sound asleep in minutes, if not seconds. There are no more nightmares, no more psychic pain, no more unfinished business. This is what recovered is. Recovered is completely free. Relapse is totally out of the question because all recovered people care about is getting closer to God, helping others, being honest, being better, and growing spiritually.

I wish with all my heart that every addict in the world meets a recovered person and sees what I saw many years ago – a person who was glowing, grounded, sane, free, calm, wise and at peace. You can just look into the eyes of a recovered person and know they are truly okay, that any obsession to drink or use or self-desrtuct is just gone. I wish suffering addicts will see this and decide that they must have this thing, this peace. Finally, I wish addicts will then decide to put God first before anything, because the very instant that happens, addiction will never be a problem again, so long as we live.

God, be with us…

Psychiatrist Defined.

Someone close to me recently went to her shrink’s office to get a prescription refill. Her shrink wasn’t in so another shrink in the office sat her down, made her feel comfortable enough to open up, and then had her committed under chapter 123, section 12a of Massachusetts state law. The shrink knew nothing about the patient or her history, didn’t consult anybody (such as her doctor), didn’t bother to look at her chart, and seemingly acted with no actual knowledge of anything. So let’s have a little fun and define psychiatrist, since we have all but sunk back into the totalitarian kleptocracy we freed ourselves from 238 years ago.

Psychiatrist /səˈkīətrist,sī-/ (noun):

1. Someone who engages in delusions of grandeur, including but not limited to self-importance, self-brilliance, and self-worship, in order to abuse power believed to be real.

2. Someone who is damaged to the point that it becomes necessary to make projection of their own character defects a full-time job.

3. A quackpot who believes that what they do, such as randomly prescribing untested science projects on human patients as if they were guinea pigs, is an actual science, means anything, has a purpose, and helps people.

4. A quackpot.

5. A narcissist.

Happy 4th!

Watered-Down AA Fails…

…Because of slogans like the one I had to suffer the other night at a meeting. By the way, I never go to meetings, but I’ve been going to a local Big Book group to support some friends of mine in their effort. At any rate, the slogan was:

     “Just bring the body.”

Wow. You gotta be kidding me.

How sad it is that AA has been reduced to this. Just bring the body, but don’t worry about actually doing anything, at all, ever. What a shell of its former self, as the new, easier, softer, slogan AA weakens and dilutes the original program almost into oblivion.

If all you do is bring the body, I can promise you with near certainty that you will fail, and you will never get to experience the spiritual solution, which requires quite a bit more than bringing your body somewhere and doing absolutely nothing.

AA is a prescription of lifelong, non-stop, rigorous spiritual action. AA is a program that turns your entire life upside down, leveling and knocking you on your ass before it builds you back up one spiritual brick at a time. I’m pretty sure just bringing the body isn’t going to write a thorough and mind-bending 4th Step written inventory of your entire life, nor will it give you the power to face every single soul you have wronged and fearlessly make amends to them all. It will, however, make you eligible for story time and snack break.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but if you are an alcoholic or an addict and some airhead at a local meeting tells you to just “bring the body” and “keep comin'”, don’t walk but SPRINT the other way, as this advice may well end your life when the obsession to drink or use again hits you and you go on the run of a lifetime. Sponsorship, of course, has also been reduced to near oblivion.

Physical sobriety is not sobriety, or rather, physical sobriety has virtually nothing to do with recovery. It is but a temporary state of purgatory (selfishness) between relapses. Addicts and alcoholics are insane people with a chip missing in their brains. For us to actually be safe from relapse, we must be restored to sanity, and this can only done by climbing Mount Everest, so to speak. It can only be done after painstaking work on ourselves. It can only be done when we hurl our entire lives into this Step process and want it so bad that it becomes a mathematical certainty that God will reach out and touch us and remove our obsession to use, thus restoring us to sanity.

So unless the only thing on your mind is going to any lengths to get better and grow spiritually, then it really doesn’t matter where you bring your body. Sorry to be so blunt about it, but I think it’s important enough to risk sounding like a dick.

God, please remind me everyday to never just bring the body…

Human Power

External power (the opposite of internal or spiritual power) is simultaneously the most desired yet worst thing for human beings. The men and women with the most power in the world also have the sickest souls and must commit the gravest of sins to maintain their power, which they will only willingly cede over their dead bodies. Power is the heroin of the psychopath. Heroin is for cowards, but power is for confident, narcissistic psychopaths who worship only themselves and refuse to bow before anything, especially God.

Physical, worldly power is the most intoxicating and seductive of drugs. The more power, the more possessed one becomes with self-worship, which is, by the way, the doctrine of satanism. So it would be more than fair to characterize those with the most power – the morons who run the country, the federal reserve, the largest banks, the world bank, the IMF, BIS, CFR, etc. etc. as the most dangerous souls on earth. They are the greatest threat to mankind that exists.

The second most dangerous worldly condition is cowardice, i.e. the rest of us. The people who hold the most power only hold it because the rest of the world, the sheeple, empower them. The masses of cowards give those in power their power. Therefore, external power is not necessarily real, it is simply a condition or construct we invent that can vanish as quickly as a vapor suddenly disappears. Power is not a tangible or permanent thing. It is the greatest human illusion that exists, besides fear. It is only real because we believe it to be real, and it is only obtained and maintained through the power of suggestion and the gullible masses who will believe anything.

So please remember this when you obey, conform, follow and fear those in power, for you are simply bowing to another idiot who defecates just like you, and only believes he’s important in his head. We are all tiny little specs of ignorance in the scope of Creation and beyond. There is nothing to fear. If you have lost your own small bit of power, than take it back. If you know something is right in your heart but it happens to be against the laws or rules of some tyrant, take back your power and do it anyway. If you know something is wrong but it is demanded by the tyrant, refuse to do it. How ironic that peaceful dissent is now considered to be treasonous in the “land of the free.” We have concocted and secured loads of false human power to a handful of economically and historically illiterate narcissists and all we have to do to dissolve this structure is simply to think, speak and act for ourselves.

I had a conversation the other day with a friend who was determined to convince me that we don’t own ourselves. This sort of popular, collectivist propaganda is becoming mainstream today… and it is some of the most dangerous thinking known to mankind. This is when people become slaves and those in power become somewhat genocidal and say things like, “I’m really good at killing people [with drones].” We must never drink this sort of Kool Aid and give up ourselves and our freedom in the name of the collectivist doctrine. It is simply a ruse for a handful of elite to maintain power by extracting all of it from everybody else… along with your wealth, time, energy, freedom, privacy, you name it.

And needless to say, those of us who are the most productive and work the hardest will undoubtedly be the most screwed. Fraud and failure are now rewarded while success and productivity are punished.

Power is the most dangerous game their is. If you jump in, try not to immediately sell your soul to the devil, as one day you may reap what you sow when the angry masses come and rip you apart.

Psychotherapy is Nonsense

No psychologist or psychiatrist will disagree with you if you walk in and tell them you have a problem. Not only will they immediately reassure you that you do indeed have a problem, but they will continue the fraud, session after session, by conjuring up reasons for your problem. Trust me, if you don’t have a reason, they will give you one. And if there is no reason, they will find one.

By making up external reasons for self-created problems, there is really no end in sight for all the therapy you will need to work everything out. I love that Mad Men episode when Don calls up Betty’s psychiatrist and tells him that Betty is just becoming weaker and more damaged. So the guy says something like,

Well Don, we’re really just doing basic psychoanalysis here, but if you really want her to make progress than we’ll have to step it up to advanced psychoanalysis and she’ll have to come in three times a week, double sessions, indefinitely. And it sounds like you should talk to someone too.

The idea is that everybody needs therapy and/or medication for their entire lives.

Don chuckles a bit realizing what a fraud this guy is, that he’s just sucking every dollar he possibly can out of him and doing absolutely nothing for his wife. But the real hoax is that there is nothing he can do for her even if he wanted to, because his expertise, as it were, is a farse. Don knows the whole exercise is asinine but continues to cough it up because somehow his poor wife is convinced something is actually taking place on the therapy couch.

The truth is therapy and pills don’t actually change people. How ignorant to think the soul can be treated medically. Knowledge and medication are great, but they don’t change people. And please, as if my addiction and all my suffering is rooted in something other than me. Nothing that happens to us can be blamed for what we end up doing to ourselves. We make ourselves who we are. We become addicts not because of our lives but because we are a cowards. Falsely attributing my problems to an external source simply allows me to avoid responsibility and gives me some top notch excuses to get high and do all sorts of demented shit.

Ha! See! See all you assholes! My therapist told me that it’s not really my fault because of wanh, my daddy, and wanh, my childhood, and wanh, I have depression, anger, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, DD-NOS, Bipolar #4a, Bipolar #2b, and oh, don’t forget Generic Clinical Disorders #13a, 22c, 28bs and 43z28turbo…’

Wow. You gotta be kidding me. Guess what? If one of these clowns had just told me to GET OVER IT and take off the diapers, that would have been the best and only advice I ever needed. Watch how easy good therapy really is, even though we never get real therapy when we sit down under some framed degrees: Charlie, get over it. Get over yourself. Stop blaming other people for your problems and stop pretending to be a victim because you’re not. You’re no different than anybody else, and because you’re no different, nobody cares to hear you whine about your life and how unfair it is and how nothing is your fault because of mommy and daddy and blah, blah, blah.

Look, my father was no angel. He was a severely depressed binge drinker who flew into abusive rages, but do I blame him for anything? Nope. Is anybody or anything outside of myself to blame for my addiction or anything else I’ve suffered in life? Nope. Until addicts figure this out, there is no getting better. Trust me, adopting this kind of attitude is what saved my life.

I guess I just don’t see any difference between a psychotherapist and a good friend who’s willing to be honest with me. But hey, if you want to pay someone to be your friend, don’t let me stop you… though isn’t it a bit cheaper to just call up your buddy for a cup of coffee?

Perhaps psychiatry/ology, similar to mass media, government, central banks, public schooling – common core etc., is but another tool to cripple the population. Make everybody believe they have a myriad of problems and medicate them to the hilt. Is that not the goal? No one can deny that the explosion in mental illness and psychiatry in America astutely coincided with the explosion in pharmaceuticals… but also with the climax of American power and an increasingly bankrupt and despotic government. I realize that sounds rather devious, but do yourself a favor and just think about it before you blow 250 bucks just to shoot the shit and have your brain re-wired by one of these Ivy League jokers.

And if you can find one single shred of hard science behind what these guys do, I’ll send you a lollipop. Better yet, tell me that psychology or psychiatry is an actual science and I’ll sell you a bridge in California. These guys have no idea what they’re doing and no idea what these powerful psychotropics are really doing to people ;-)
